Department of Electronics & Communications Engineering
The Department established in
1998, has qualified, young and dynamic teaching
staff, many with specializations in various
streams of this field of engineering, and also
from reputed institutions. The team of 20 faculty
members, supported by well-trained laboratory
staff and technicians cater to the need for the
over-all development of students in academics as
well as in other technical activities. Apart from
the regular subjects of the course, the department
also offers a wide range of elective subjects,
which benefits the students in pursuing their
field of interest so as to specialize and
concentrate more on fields relevant to their
project. Subjects like Optical Fiber
Communication, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical
Engineering, Satellite Communication, and Radar
Systems etc. fall under the scope of elective
subjects offered. Notwithstanding the above, the
department always looks for creative and
technologically advanced skill transfer to the
students through collaboration, guidance and
counseling in the department.
Laboratories:
Within
a short span of its existence the department has
established following laboratories:
- Basic Electronics Lab
- Digital Electronics Lab
- Microprocessor Lab
- Micro controller Lab
- Communication Lab
- DSP Lab
- Analog Integrated Circuit Lab
- Optical Communication Lab
- e-CAD Lab
- Microwave Lab
- Electronics Work Shop for PCB design and fabrication.
- Project Lab with facility to work on DSP,MATLAB Ver 7.6 and FPGA Advantage.
- HEP2 (Mentor Graphics & XILINX) Tools, ORCAD/PSPICE Design Suite
- Code Composer Studio (3.1)
|
 | The
laboratories are well maintained and are regularly
updated responding to the changing needs of the
technological scenario. The Project Lab is an
exclusive facility offered to the students apart
from their curriculum with the purpose of
developing their creative thinking and innovative
skills. This is a unique opportunity where
facilities exist for learners to gain sound
software skills along with the hardware skills
acquired in the other laboratories. |

Additional
Information:
The Department encourages
active participation of the budding engineers in
various professional societies. The journals and
transactions from societies like lEE and IEEE are
subscribed and guest lectures by people of high
repute from academics and industry are organized
frequently in order to empower students' knowledge
base. A Competitive environment is fostered and
development of leadership skills and team skills
are also encouraged by means of the departmental
society which holds various quizzes and contests
from time to time to bring out hidden
talents.
